"Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."
so many times i have heard this verse. in coach cash's bible glass we had to memorize basically all of romans chapter 12 so it just became annoying honestly. but tonight Jesus found me again. and shook me and woke me up to realize what this verse really means.
so long i have searched for what gods will is for my life. so long have i begged him to transform me. and when i felt like nothing was happening id get pissed and just walk away from Him. but im back again God. He spells out for me how to get what i have wanted so much. i have to view people as christ viewed them. i have to be holy. i have to relinquish my desires to hold major status in this world. i have to be transformed. i want to be. tonight at ethos He called out to me and i felt that deep tug inside of my soul to surrender myself to Him again. I feel like with each day i am growing. I know this is all over the place kinda so im sorry. I have just been searching for peace so long and thinking i knew how to achieve it but i was so wrong.
also. a thought that goes with viewing people in gods mercy:
the greatest christians i know today have those stories of how they werent great people and how they did things and sinned and are so changed from that in christ. and those stories of how they were consumed by sin and God saved them from it makes those christians so relatable to us and we look up to them now knowing how they have changed.
we except people's past when its in the past
but so often when people do things we dislike or disagree with today or are just giant douche bags we totally write them off. we dont think about the great people they can become. we dont view them with Gods mercy. the same guy who is the biggest douche today could possibly be the greatest inspiration to someone 5 years down the road just like the guy who talked in church today is someone i look up to so much but he hates who he was during high school and college. i feel like this doesnt make any sense. but i dont care because no one reads this anyway
i am going to try harder to view people with the mercy of christ. im going to try to see them as what they can be and how they are used for the kingdom and not see them or dislike them based on first judgement. i want to love like jesus. i want to be loved that way. lets have a good week.
night and love
